With the invention of Facebook and other social networking sites such as Twitter, LinkedIn and MySpace, it only makes sense that the next logical development would be a network for children, right? Surprisingly, the answer is yes. A new product called KIDO’Z was created as a kids-only network that allows parents to regulate the type of content their child has access to online. For only $39.90, subscribers are provided with an account for life.
The network is composed of several elements, including the following parts:
- Web browser: This attribute is the mother of KIDO’Z attributes. The browser is completely controlled by the parent and the workers of KIDO’Z, which means that sites that don’t pass a certain inspection cannot be visited. The filter information can also be changed depending on the age and maturity level of the child user.
- Video site: It would be silly to have a kid networking site without the possibility for YouTube-like entertainment, which is why KIDO’Z includes its own video content site consisting of appropriate content.
- Email: This element allows children to input information about themselves as well as post pictures and chat with friends. In many ways, this feature makes KIDO’Z similar to Facebook.
- Gaming portal: Kids of all ages will probably be most drawn to this component of the product, but parents shouldn’t worry about mindless gaming. The games on KIDO’Z are educational and interactive, allowing for simultaneous fun and learning.
For parents worried about what their kids are doing online (or what online is doing to their kids), KIDO’Z provides comfort, ease and affordability. Most importantly, kids won’t recognize the difference between the unfiltered Internet and the Internet to which they will be exposed.
